　　Shanxi Hotel (Platinum Five-Star) is affiliated with the Shanxi People's Government General Affairs Management Bureau. Its predecessor was "Zizhengtang," built in 1914 at the initiative and with funding from Yan Xishan. Famous figures from China and abroad, including Zhou Enlai, Chiang Kai-shek, Song Meiling, Kong Xiangxi, Xu Zhimo, and Rabindranath Tagore, once stayed here. In 1950, it was renamed "People's Grand Auditorium." In 1978, it was renamed "Provincial Government Third Guesthouse." In 1981, it was renamed "Wenying Hotel." In 1985, after a large-scale expansion, it was renamed "Shanxi Hotel," with the name personally inscribed by Peng Zhen, then Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. For more than 60 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China, it has been an important venue for provincial government receptions. From 2012 to 2013, the hotel underwent renovations and upgrades, becoming the themed cultural hotel showcasing the artistic style of Shanxi with its Ming and Qing architectural style that we see today.
